How to Change a User Account Password, As an administrator, you have the ability to manage user accounts on your cPanel hosting server, including changing user passwords through the WHM panel.

  1. Log into your WHM interface.
  2. Select Account Functions from the left-hand menu.
  3. Choose the Password Modification tool from either the left menu or the main panel.
  4. Highlight the account you want to update the password for from the list.
  5. Enter the new password in the Password field. You can also use the Password Generator to create a random password.

NOTE: Make sure to note down the password as it will not be visible after you leave this page.

6. Click the Change Password button to save the new password.

The cPanel user can now log in using the new password. WHM does not send automatic notifications about the new password, so inform the cPanel manager of the update if needed.

To access WHM, enter the IP address or domain followed by port 2087 in your browser. For example: https://192.168.31.1:2087 — Securely access WHM using your IP address. https://example.com:2087 — Securely access WHM using your domain name.

Each cPanel you create within WHM will have a unique username. For your first WHM login, access it via your Customer Portal, then set up your password after logging in.
