How to Open cPanel File Manager #

Access the File Manager in your cPanel account’s Files section by clicking the link below:

  • For quick access, go to the Files option.
  • By default, you’ll be directed to /home/userdirectory. You can change the default directory in the Settings menu:
  • You can also enable the Show Hidden Files (dotfiles) option here to display system files like .htaccess in the File Manager:
  • Your primary domain’s web root is the public_html folder, containing all website files visible when someone visits your main domain (the one provided during hosting sign-up).
  • To upload files for your addon domain, go to home/user/youraddondomain.com. This directory is automatically created when an addon domain is added to a cPanel account.

The File Manager interface is split into 4 sections:

How to Access cPanel File Manager Copy or Move a File #

  • Open the File Manager.
  • Choose the files you want to copy or move (hold Ctrl+Command to select multiple files).
  • After selecting, click the Copy or Move icon.
  • Alternatively, right-click the selected files and select Copy or Move from the menu.
  • A confirmation window will show the final destination once done.

To Delete a file #

  • Launch the File Manager.

  • A confirmation window will pop up after this step.
